Always have a “plan B” and stay focus on the goal!

Community partnership is essential and rewarding! However working together means you must have a plan B in case of bad weather or contractors that can not install your swing set by the target date!

Our hope and goal was to have the new swing set installed by late August 2015 or early September 2015.  Our banner, lawn signs and postcards are ready to advertise the ribbon cutting and a day of outdoor play and fun. Our “latest” ribbon cutting target date was Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11AM to have a ribbon cutting, healthy refreshments, opportunity for children to play on the new swing set and pictures taken to display on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Shaping NJ Poster Session.

Unfortunately, we were informed today, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 that the swing set may not be fully installed until Monday, September 21, 2015.

Fortunately, our team anticipated a possible delay in installation. At our monthly P.L.A.A.Y. grant meetings we discussed the possible obstacles and challenges that may occur during the project. The good news is we can fill in the date and time on our banner and our postcards ask the community to call the Willingboro Recreation and Parks Department for the date and time of the ribbon cutting.

On Thursday, September 17, 2015 at our regularly scheduled 3rd Thursday of the month meeting will discuss “plan B” for the installation and ribbon cutting. It is always good to have a “plan B”, a great community team, outstanding community partnership and to stay focus on the goal!

We will post pictures of the new swing set when it is installed!
