The Raritan Bay Area YMCA could not provide the city of Perth Amboy with our Teen Center, Community Garden/Farmer’s Market or Play Streets without the help and support of our wonderful ShapingNJ Partners. This blog is dedicated to them, thank you for all you do for the community of Perth Amboy!
The City of Perth Amboy (www.ci.perthamboy.nj.us): Mayor Wilda Diaz, its Recreation Department and Municipal Alliance to Prevent Alcoholism and Drug Abuse provide us with immeasurable support on these initiatives from providing volunteers and staff from the city to working with the teens and children in both Teen Center and Play Streets, to joining us in cultivating our Community Garden and Farmers Market, they have been instrumental in the success and expansion of these programs. “I am excited to know that our youth are getting involved and utilizing these local recreational facilities at their leisure. I am grateful for this positive environment that continues to thrive because of local partnerships and supporters of our youth. These are the outlets that help to shape our future and develop our teens. I’m certain it’s making a difference in their lives, week after week,” said Perth Amboy’s Mayor Wilda Diaz.
Raritan Bay Medical Center (www.rbmc.org): Provides the community with many services and amenities which support an integrated approach to health care, such as: nutrition counseling and classes, massage, music therapy, wellness programs and pet therapy (through the hospital’s volunteer services dept.). This mind-body-spirit connection is imperative to helping the community of Perth Amboy maintain healthy lifestyles. RBMC provides us with information to share with the community on topics such as healthy eating, nutrition and wellness. These informational articles, tips and support nicely compliment both our Teen Center, Play Street as well as Community Garden/Farmer’s Market initiatives. We post these articles on our Facebook and Twitter as well as link them to our website here: http://www.rbaymca.org/main/raritan-bay-medical-center-division-of-intergrative-medicne/.
